Odds to Win the Memorial Tournament

A course scenic view of the second hole green during practice for the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide at Muirfield Village Golf Club on May 30, 2017 in Dublin, Ohio.

One of the strongest fields of the PGA Tour season is set to descend on Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio for the 2018 edition of the Memorial Tournament, and golf bettors looking for value will find no shortage of it on the oddsboard.

Eight of the top 10 players in the world rankings will be in attendance in Ohio.

At Bovada, Justin Thomas is the +1200 favorite, with Dustin Johnson (+1400), Jason Day (+1400), Justin Rose (+1400), Rory McIlroy (+1400), Jordan Spieth (+1600), Tiger Woods (+1600), Rickie Fowler (+2000), Henrik Stenson (+2800) and Bubba Watson (+3300) comprising the rest of the top 10.

In total, 12 of the top 15 golfers in the FedExCup standings will be in attendance this weekend, including all four of the tour’s multiple winners from this season (Thomas, Day, Watson and Patton Kizzire). Eight of the top 10 players in the world rankings will tee it up at Muirfield. A five-time Memorial champion, Woods returns to the course for the first time since 2015. Eldrick is coming off a T-11 showing at The Players Championship a few weeks ago.

Who has the edge at Jack’s Place?

The Memorial, which is colloquially referred to as “Jack’s Place” due to its founding and design by legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, is one of the most prestigious non-major tournaments on the tour year in and year out. The event has been a major source of success for international players in recent years, as six of the Memorial’s previous 14 champions have been internationals. Before that, only three of the first 27 winners came from outside the United States.

Last year, Jason Dufner rallied from four shots back on the final day to close the tournament with a 68 while earning his fifth tour victory in the process. The Duff Man saw a five-shot lead through 36 holes evaporate thanks to a 77 on Saturday but showed some major resilience in his Sunday comeback.

The course, a 7,392-yard par 72, has been a staple on the PGA Tour since its opening in 1974. The track is consistently considered one of the top courses in the United States as well as ranking in the top 50 in golf courses in the world.
