Odds to Win the NBA Western Conference

Chris Paul #3 of the Houston Rockets congratulates James Harden #13 after a three point shot in the first half against the Washington Wizards at Toyota Center on April 3, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

Ahead of the NBA playoffs, the race to win the Western Conference banner is as close as it’s been in quite some time.

The Warriors are -110 favorites to win the Western Conference banner for the fourth straight year.

The Golden State Warriors, who opened the year at -278 to represent the conference in the NBA Finals for the fourth year in a row, are the slight -110 front-runners at Bovada. The Houston Rockets (+110), Oklahoma City Thunder (+1800), Portland Trail Blazers (+2200), Utah Jazz (+2500), San Antonio Spurs (+3500), Minnesota Timberwolves (+4500) and New Orleans Pelicans (+6600) are all available in plus-money.

The Warriors stumbled to the finish line in the regular season, and injuries were a major reason for that. The banged-up Dubs enter a first-round series with the Spurs as the odds-on favorites to win the West, but the Rockets present the toughest test to the Warriors in the Stephen Curry era.

Changing of the guard in the West

The Western Conference was full of surprises this year, as teams like the Jazz, Timberwolves and Pelicans eclipsed expectations to make the big dance. While the majority of playoff series in the conference were a snoozefest last year, expect to see some extremely competitive series this time around.
