The Jets have been near unstoppable at home

After winning two of three games in Nashville, the Winnipeg Jets are one win away from advancing to the Western Conference final for the first time in franchise history. The Jets clobbered the Predators 6-2 in Game 5 and will be ecstatic to return home where they’re 13-1 SU in their last 14 games. Winnipeg was edged 2-1 in its last game at home on Thursday but opened as a -145 favorite to end Nashville’s season.

  • The Predators are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the Jets.
  • The Jets are 45-19 SU as a favorite this season.
  • The Predators are 14-5 SU in their last 19 games on the road.

The Jets will be jacked up to get back to the MTS Centre and the “Whiteout.” Winnipeg is holding teams to 1.80 goals per game at home in the playoffs while scoring at a clip of four goals per game. Rookie Kyle Connor has stepped up to provide secondary scoring for a loaded Jets squad and notched two goals in a decisive victory in Game 5. But where the Jets got the most impact was in net as Connor Hellebuyck was sensational, holding the Predators to only two goals on 40 shots in a hostile environment in Tennessee. Placing a wager on the Jets would be heavily endorsed as they’re 18-4 SU in their last 22 games.

Although Winnipeg may have had a nice winning streak at the MTS Centre, it’s not a coincidence that its 13-game home winning streak started and ended after Nashville victories. The Predators are the only team that has won twice in Manitoba this season but if the odds-on favorite to win the Vezina Trophy doesn’t up his game, the Predators could be eliminated in a hurry. Pekka Rinne has been a mixed bag in the playoffs (3.00 GAA and .898 save percentage) and allowed four goals in the second period in Game 5. If bettors are willing to look past the shaky play of Rinne, they should know that Nashville is 7-0 SU coming off a loss and neither team has won consecutive games in the series.

The total opened at 6 and when these two teams meet, it’s a scorefest as the OVER has hit in seven of the last 10 games in this matchup with an average combined score of 7.8 goals per game.
