World Cup: Switzerland Preview
Switzerland won their qualifying group and they play a great team game, but getting out of Group H with the likes of Spain and Chile will not be easy.

has Switzerland at +20000 to win the World Cup and at +900 to win Group H.

They will be underdogs against Spain and Chile in group play and they have to play well against those teams, which are ranked higher than they are, to make it to the playoffs.
The main strength of the Swiss team is that they play a great team game. They have many players that have experience in playing in Europe and they is no lack of motivation on their squad. Their offense is good led by the strikers of Alexander Frei of FC Basel and Tranquillo Barnetta Bayer Leverkusen. These guys will have to provide Switzerland with some offense. One player that is key for the Swiss is G Diego Benaglio VFL Wolfsburg, as he has to play well, especially facing the solid offensive squads of Chile and Spain.
The Swiss really have no major glaring weaknesses, but they do not have the top-flight players that other clubs have and they tend to play down their opponents when they should win. They cannot do that in Group play when they face Honduras, which is a team they should beat.
Ottmar Hitzfeld is a solid coach having guided the clubs of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the past and his low-key demeanor is perfect for the Swiss squad. He will have to figure out a good defensive formation when they face Chile and especially Spain.
Switzerland’s first match in Group H is against Spain and a win is very unlikely, but if they pull off the shocker or even play to a tie, which is more likely, they have a good shot to make the playoffs.
